This colony has been fed the patty mix since November, 2011 and shows brood (4 frames) on 1-7-12.
Protein Patty mix was place on a Red Oak (Quercus Rubra) leaf
a few day before with remains still visable.
The patty fed to this colony contains all Vitamins (B Complex), Minerals, Lipids
and Protein needed by the bees.
The new Honey-B-Healthy EX Vitamin/Mineral mix is all natural and plant based.

Not full frames of brood as last spring and summer fed patties, but good for 1-7-12 in the Appalachian Mountains when hives are broodless until late January when queens begin to lay eggs. Brood appears to be healthy with no disease and nice pearly white larvae. Also, newly hatched young bees were big fat and healthy.

Close up of brood and the bees were only fed the patty with natural pollen in the hive. Though not seen there were a lot of eggs in the open cells.
